Mr. Weston joined Azalea Capital in 1999 to work with the firm’s
initial principal investing activities. Most recently, Mr. Weston has
focused his activities on originating, structuring, and managing middle
market investment transactions. He currently serves on the Board of
Spartan Foods of America, CNC Holdings Corp., ETAK Systems, Inc., and
Sunbelt Chemicals Corp.
Immediately prior to joining Azalea Capital, Mr. Weston served as Vice
President of Transamerica Mezzanine Financing, Inc. (formerly Emergent
Equity Advisors) in Greenville. From 1994-1998, he worked with Liberty
Capital Advisors, the investment management subsidiary of the Liberty
Corporation, an insurance and broadcast holding company headquartered
in Greenville, South Carolina. As a portfolio manager, he was
responsible for developing and implementing investment policies for
various asset classes, including private equity investments.
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Mr. Weston received a B.S. in
Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, where he
graduated Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Gamma
Sigma. In 1993, he received an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business
at Duke University. Mr. Weston is also a Chartered Financial Analyst,
and he is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Atlanta
Venture Forum, the North Carolina Society of Security Analysts, and the
Greenville Chamber of Commerce.
