Sam B. Phillips, Jr. – Member Mr. Phillips joined Azalea in 2004 as a Principal with the Azalea Fund II, L.P. after being an investor in the Azalea Fund I. Mr. Phillips is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of S.B. Phillips, Inc., a holding company for several operating companies headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, the largest of which is Phillips Staffing, Inc., a national staffing company founded in 1968. He has extensive operating experience in various industries in which he owns or previously owned a business, including staffing, textiles, chemicals, telecommunications, hospitality, real estate, and the golf industry. Mr. Phillips is a South Carolina native and a graduate of Furman University with a B.A. in Political Science and English. He is an active board member of The Palmetto Bank, Power Equipment Maintenance, Inc., SubAir Systems, LLC, The Boy Scouts of America Blue Ridge Counsel, The Meyer Center for Special Children, and The Greenville Technical College Entrepreneurial Advisory Board. Mr. Phillips is also a former board member of Furman University and The Citadel MBA Program Advisory Board, and he serves on the boards of numerous civic, social, and charitable organizations.
