Azalea Capital Invests in Low Falls Nursery, Inc.

Greenville, SCAzalea Capital is pleased to announce a recent investment in Low Falls Wholesale Nursery, Inc., which is headquartered in Cameron, SC.  This is the third platform investment in Azalea’s fifth investment fund.

Founded in 1986 by William Shirer, Robert Merritt, Gene Merritt and George Stoudenmire, Low Falls is a wholesale tree nursery primarily serving commercial landscaping contractors.  Low Falls has over 130,000 trees planted on approximately 500 acres of prime farmland in South Carolina, serving customers throughout the Southeastern region of the U.S.

Low Falls is led by Trey Shirer, as President, while Walter Fogle remains as Manager of Operations.  Trey Shirer shared “We are excited about our new partnership with Azalea Capital.  Low Falls will continue to provide the highest quality trees and ornamental shrubs to leading landscape contractors and wholesale nurseries throughout the Southeast.  Azalea’s investment will help Low Falls expand our operations while maintaining the responsive service our customers have come to expect of our entire team.”  Simultaneous with closing, Steffan Burns and Tom Merritt will join the Board of Directors at Low Falls.  Mr. Burns was previously the CEO of Shemin Nurseries, Inc. before its sale to SiteOne, Inc., while Mr. Merritt is the Co-CEO of OOBE, Inc. with a background in the landscaping and nursery industry.
